I love things with wings. Birds can be represented in an illustratively, with bold lines and defined features, or you can try and capture their more ephemeral nature with splashy watercolor designed to invoke movement.
Big and small have numerous ways and styles to be represented and tattooed. Animals have spoken to humanity as tattoos as long as we’ve been putting ink under skin.
The fact that these real-life dragons once walked the earth, and though the rare process of fossilization we can discover things about them from millions of years ago, will never cease to blow my mind.

These are my favorite subjects for realism. There is a magic in the transformation that these animals undertake during their lifecycle, and its no wonder that people turn to them as avatars to represent great life change and emergence.
